Gweedore, officially known as Gaoth Dobhair, is an Irish-speaking parish located on the Atlantic coast of County Donegal.
It is the largest Irish-speaking parish in Ireland and is also the home of the northwest regional studios of the Irish-language radio service RTÉ Raidió na Gaeltachta.
Nestled between the Derryveagh mountains & the wild Atlantic, Gweedore offers a wealth of activities for the outdoor enthiusiast, from hillwalking to Island-hopping.
Gweedore has a coastline of over 25km stretching from the Gaoth River in the South to Glaisear Chú in the North.
The area is surrounded by the deep glens and lakes of the Poisoned Glen, and Glenveagh national park and castle, the largest national park in Ireland.
