Enniscrone is one of Ireland’s most popular family holiday seaside resorts. Its wonderful 3km sandy beach is surrounded by dunes and offers beautiful views in all directions.
The “Valley of Diamonds” is one of the hidden features along the beach, and is the largest of the “volcano-like” compositions among the long-grassed sand dunes. It is located near the end of the beach.
For over a century people have chosen it for their holiday destination, whether it has been to bath in the Atlantic waters or for the therapeutic benefits of the renowned Enniscrone Seaweed Baths.
Enniscrone is also home to one of the very best links golf courses in Ireland.
The town lies on the mouth of the Moy River and is a popular spot with anglers too. Salmon, trout and grilse can all be found here.
The “Enniscrone Black Pig Festival” is held annually in early August. It celebrates the demise of a fabled wild boar which ran amok in the town many centuries ago.
