Clonakilty is an award-winning seaside town in West Cork, renowned for its vibrant music and food culture.
The town hosts several annual festivals, such as The Clonakilty International Guitar Festival, The Motion festival, and The Waterfront Festival.
The Model Village is an excellent tourist destination, which includes fully scaled models of Clonakilty and nearby towns, all built on a miniature of the area’s railway line.
The beautiful Blue Flag beach at Inchydoney Island is a short drive from the town.
On Emmet Square, where Michael Collins lived for a time, there is a statue in his honour and a museum, which opened in 2016.
Collins is also known to have given several orations from O’Donovan’s Hotel on the Main Street.
