Sandscove is only ten minutes from Clonakilty but is something of a hidden gem on the West Cork coast.
The beach is only accessible via a walk down a laneway with a plentiful supply of wildflowers, with woodland and ferns closer to the beach.
Seals and dolphins can be observed in the cove if you get lucky on your visit.
