Cooraclare, from the Irish meaning “Recess of the Plain”, is a village near Kilrush, in County Clare.
Cooraclare lies on the River Doonbeg. The area has excellent sea and freshwater fishing opportunities. A number of rivers and lakes offer free fishing for brown trout
The area is ideal for walking, on the small side roads as well as across bogland and along the cliffs on the spectacular coast.
The small roads are also great for cycling with only little other traffic.
